Magazine Adverts

This is an advert for La Roux's debut album. It is advertising the album at the same time as expressing some of the reviews it has got from respected magazines and newspapers. This is a good technique within advertising as it offers the audience a second opinion (in this case mulitple opinions) as to whether the album is work buying.

La Roux are an electro-pop band. The director of the photo shoot used to make this advert has tried to portray the idea of Ellie Jackson (the front woman) having an electro-edgy look through the use of lighting and shadows.

The advert is most likely a half page advert in a magazine judging by the landscape layout of it.

Music Video/Band Promo

Here is a video I have found on YouTube promoting McFly's new image and style. I have chosen to post this video because it is similar to the kind of video I have to produce in the way that it portrays the image of the band without them speaking or doing any direct movements for the camera's benefit. The video last's just under a minute, whereas my music video trailer is aiming to last around 30 seconds or so.
